MEDITATION CLASSES

MEDITATION CLASSES

"Pure, unobstructed wisdom arises from meditation."

The practice of sitting in meditation develops right mindfulness and keeps the mind clear and aware. Through meditation, we learn to face the ups and downs of everyday life with strength, wisdom, and peace of mind.

All meditation courses are taught by formally trained Buddhist monks. They are offered in four levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and sutra study. Every class includes guided meditation and instruction on Buddhist teachings. Students learn meditation methods such as breath counting, mindfulness of breathing, and contemplation on compassion. Additionally, instructors introduce Buddhist teachings step-by-step, explaining their relevance to daily life with clear explanations and insightful examples. By completing a meditation course, students will have established a solid foundation for their spiritual practice, and gained an effective tool set to build mental stability, purity, and awareness.

Meditation classes are held weekly and include guided meditation and Dharma teachings. Classes are offered in Chinese with Thai translation.

The level 1 meditation course consists of two sessions with ten classes each. Classes are held once a week for two hours. The first half-hour is dedicated to guided meditation and learning to calm the mind with methods such as breath-counting or mindfulness of breathing. Afterwards, there is a fifteen minute break for mingling with other students.

The second hour comprises instruction on fundamental Buddhist teachings, with topics ranging from monastic etiquette, the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, the Three Jewels, and the Five Precepts.
