"Pure, unobstructed wisdom arises from meditation."
The practice of sitting in meditation develops right mindfulness and keeps the mind clear and aware. Through meditation, we learn to face the ups and downs of everyday life with strength, wisdom, and peace of mind.
All meditation courses are taught by formally trained Buddhist monks. They are offered in four levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and sutra study. Every class includes guided meditation and instruction on Buddhist teachings. Students learn meditation methods such as breath counting, mindfulness of breathing, and contemplation on compassion.
Additionally, instructors introduce Buddhist teachings step-by-step, explaining their relevance to daily life with clear explanations and insightful examples. By completing a meditation course, students will have established a solid foundation for their spiritual practice, and gained an effective tool set to build mental stability, purity, and awareness.
Meditation classes are held weekly and include guided meditation and Dharma teachings. They are offered in Chinese and English.

Chan teaches us how to stabilize the mind, purify the mind, awaken the mind, and understand the mind. With Chan meditation, we can generate the strength to overcome afflictions and barriers, realize the essence of Chan mind, the Buddha Way, and see our true nature.
To help participants achieve this goal, the one-day Chan retreat offers six sessions of sitting meditation.During the retreat, speech is prohibited, and activities such as making phone calls, recording, taking notes, reading books or newspapers, and reciting sutras are also prohibited. Participants set aside all worldly attachments and with a mind free from arising thoughts, focus solely on practice.
